Welcoming Eucharistic Community Since 1838

Goals and Objectives

I. Ensure that the parish celebrates vibrant eucharistic liturgies

  • Provide on-going formation on the meaning of liturgy, the sacraments and devotional practices as well as opportunities to discuss and share the Word of God
  • Ensure that all liturgical ministers are well trained and formed in their roles
  • Reach out to those who do not regularly participate in Eucharist by inviting people of all ages to become active participants
  • Promote reverence and respect within our church

II. Provide lifelong faith formation opportunities

  • Establish a lifelong faith formation curriculum
  • Provide and communicate opportunities for ongoing faith formation and renewal
  • Invite and provide opportunities for parents to take an essential part in the faith formation of their children
  • Provide faith formation resources and encourage people to use them
  • Offer faith formation activities that energize and involve youth

III. Continue to promote Catholic school education

  • Invite school parents to be more involved in the stewardship of time, talent and treasure
  • Expand collaboration with St. Charles, Catholic Central and other schools in light of good stewardship
  • Discover ways to increase financial support for the school
  • Continue to promote and support Immaculate Conception (St. Mary) Preschool, Immaculate Conception (St. Mary) Elementary School and Catholic Central High School

IV. Engage in outgoing social outreach

  • Develop an awareness of the needs of the homebound, sick and elderly
  • Design ways to meet the needs of the elderly and homebound
  • Partner with community organizations to support efforts to serve those in need
  • Provide educational and formational opportunities for parishioners of all ages to get to know a people from different cultures and religions and understand both the differences and the similarities in them
  • Invite individuals to consider being deacons who will engage in social ministry in the parish

V. Increase participation in parish stewardship

  • Increase parish membership
  • Enhance parishioner participation in the many ministry opportunities provided by the parish so all may share their time and talents
  • Increase financial support to meet the mission, vision and goals of the parish
  • Implement a bequest/planned giving program
  • Develop an evangelization/outreach program to encourage active participation in living the Gospel
  • Provide financial transparency to parishioners so they know how their financial contributions are being used.

VI. Collaborate with other parishes

  • Work with other parishes to accomplish goals which may not be possible for each parish to do individually
  • Encourage joint collaborative projects and programs as well as participation across parish lines
  • Investigate efficient utilization of facilities and grounds of all area parishes, i.e. cemeteries, buildings, school
  • Establish a good communication network
  • Collaborate with other faith communities on projects that further the reign of God

VII. Enhance the communication and social life of the parish

  • Increase the knowledge, availability and use of current networking tools to update parishioners on activities, while at the same time providing for those who do not have access to the internet
  • Promote daily scripture reflections
  • Use email to up-date parishioners on activities and news items
  • Use the website as a communication tool for committee and parishioners
  • Provide a variety of social opportunities so parishioners can get to know each other and can grow to experience the parish as a community
  • Connect with young couples with children by providing support for them

Tri-Parish Mission Statement

St. Charles Borromeo, St. Joseph, Immaculate Conception, (St.Mary), united in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through His saving death and resurrection, by calling, forming and sending disciples to go out and make new disciples. As a people, we are called to encounter Jesus, and grow as disciples through the sacramental life of the church.

Vision Statement

Immaculate Conception (St. Mary) Parish is a vibrant growing community which attracts people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds by faithfully proclaiming and living the Gospel. The celebration of Eucharistic liturgy is the source and summit of the spiritual life of the parish. Immaculate Conception (St. Mary) Parish joyfully serves the Lord as it reaches out to all, especially those in need, both locally and worldwide. The parish continues to be enriched by its twinning relationship with St. Joseph Naggalama Parish in Uganda. Parishioners feel valued and are enthusiastic about their faith. Various forms of communication keep all informed about the life and needs of the parish as well as collaborative activities with other faith communities. Hispanic ministry is growing in the parish. The parish keeps in contact with young adults who may be away at college or starting careers. Educational, formational programs and social activities are offered to assist people of all ages to continue to live according to the teachings of the Church. Excellent Catholic School opportunities are provided for young people preschool through high school. Youth groups are active and provide opportunities to learn more about our faith, be involved in outreach, prayer and worship as well as social activities. Stewardship is a way of life for parishioners as all recognize responsibilities to contribute their time, gifts and financial resources to empower the parish ministries to flourish as we strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
