A Statement from Archbishop Listecki
A statement from Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki regarding the recent comments reported by Pope Francis about same-sex attraction and civil unions:   Recently, the Holy Father brought up the issue of civil unions for those with same-sex attraction. In doing so, Pope Francis rightly differentiates between Catholic marriage and other relationships recognized by civil or state authorities. The Church clearly teaches that marriage is between one man and one woman and that it is life-long and life-giving.

Communion to the Sick and Homebound
Communion to the Sick and Homebound The Parishes have been asked when it may be permissible to use a pyx to bring Holy Communion to someone who cannot attend Mass.  The Archdiocese has stated that at this time it is preferable to have a priest, deacon or an appropriately appointed minister bring Holy Communion to the sick or homebound.  During this time of pandemic the utmost care must be made to ensure that those who are receiving Holy Communion are not put in danger of transmission of the virus.   If you know of someone who would like to have a visi...

Confession When A Priest is not available
This habit of returning home “takes flesh in the   Sacrament of Reconciliation”, the Pope explained.     “I know that many of you go to confession before Easter… Many will say to me: ‘But Father… I can’t leave the house and I want to make my peace with the Lord. I want Him to embrace me… How can I do that unless I find a priest?’. Do what the catechism says. It’s very clear. If you don’t find a priest to go to confession, speak to God.  He’s your Father. An Act of Spiritual Communion
An Act of Spiritual Communion   My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

The study will be from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the St. Sebastian room in the basement of St. Mary Church.  Paul's letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts that we as Christians are given in the church. This letter tells us about the nature of the church- as a body, as a household, as a mystery, as a communion, as a bride, and as an army. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into the family of...
